Tracey has a wealth of experience in the following areas:

  1. Work and performance-related mental health (including burnout and stress). Having spent many years in the corporate world, Tracey has a keen understanding of workplace challenges including burnout, poor work-life balance, conflict at work, poor leadership, bullying and harassment, as well as life in the FIFO space. She helps individuals to manage the fine balance between optimising performance whilst still looking after one’s own wellbeing and mental health.

2. Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Tracey has worked extensively in EAP services providing support following a range of critical incidents (natural disasters, riots, workplace accidents), and has also held positions including Counselling and Trauma Services Manager and Director of Clinical Services. She brings a supportive approach to helping those affected by trauma to address the wide-ranging impact trauma has on all areas of life. Tracey is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other evidence-based treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

3. FIFO life. A FIFO lifestyle can bring many challenges and impact the lives of not just the individual but also their support network. Tracey can help individuals navigate a FIFO life better, including addressing FIFO life (sleep routines, social connections, and health) as well as the impact on relationships and friendships (relationship conflict and loneliness).

4. Relationships and Communication (including Couples Counselling). Having worked at Relationships Australia for a number of years, Tracey enjoys supporting couples through a range of circumstances including relationship conflict, infidelity, deciding to reconnect and rebuild, making the difficult decision to separate respectfully, grief, and managing the impact of a FIFO lifestyle on the family. Tracey takes a non-judgemental and supportive approach in helping others. She utilises Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and behavioural strategies when working with couples.

5.     Leadership development. Tracey is passionate about leadership development, having conducted her Doctoral research on the influence of personality on leadership style and the ability to cope with stress. She recognises that leaders face multiple ongoing stressors including workplace politics, restructures, conflict within teams, supporting team members experiencing mental health difficulties, all whilst managing their own workload. Tracey can help leaders to strengthen their leadership capability and manage the stress and pressures of their roles more effectively.

6. Anxiety and Depression. Tracey firmly believes that our quality of life is heavily influenced by mindset, lifestyle, and resilience. She helps individuals enhance their self-awareness and ability to regulate emotions in order to live more meaningful and rewarding lives that are better aligned to their core values. She finds such a holistic approach particularly helpful for depression and various types of anxiety (particularly panic disorder and generalised anxiety disorder).

Tracey uses a range of therapeutic techniques including, but not limited to: Solution-focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotionally-focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Emotional Freedom Techniques, Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Tracey spent the first 15 years of her career providing corporate counselling services (Employee Assistance Programs) for some of Australia’s top companies and held managerial positions such as Counselling and Trauma Services Manager and Director of Clinical Services. She has supported individuals exposed to traumatic events for example worksite accidents (including explosions and fatal mine site incidents), natural disasters (e.g. bushfires), riots, and stressful workplace conditions (e.g. detention centres).
