The Skill Collective is a boutique psychology private practice conveniently located in the heart of Subiaco within walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants, and public transport (train, bus). We are a close-knit team dedicated to helping our clients build skills for a better life, and are looking for new team members.

CASUAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Skill Collective is seeking a casual administrative assistant to be a friendly first point of contact for our clients for an immediate start. You must be available to work afternoons (2.15pm-7.15pm).



You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a welcoming space for our clinicians and clients.

  • Greeting clients, booking appointments, taking payments, and managing queries.

  • Maintaining a calming presence for our clients and referrers, whilst adhering to strict privacy standards.

  • Attending to billing and paperwork, and assisting with other administrative tasks.



We are seeking someone who:

  • Has either (1) Recent experience working in administration in an allied health or medical environment, or (2) A background in psychology studies and understands confidentiality requirements.

  • Possesses strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills with a friendly and professional manner. As the ‘first impression’ of our service, excellent presentation is essential.

  • Shows initiative, can multitask and work unsupervised.

  • Has strong computer skills - we use Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Halaxy.

  • Possesses a mature approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Has Police Clearance and Working With Children Checks (essential) and First Aid certification (desirable).

PSYCHOLOGIST (REGISTERED, CLINICAL/COUNSELLING/HEALTH, CLINICAL REGISTRAR) 


Join a friendly and supportive Private Practice team environment in Subiaco, with beautiful office spaces and full on-site administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has a strong interest in performance and wellbeing, in addition to the more traditional psychological services. In particular we work a lot with perfectionism, burnout, social anxiety, adjustment difficulties, panic, self-esteem, and relationship/communication.

  • Enjoys focusing on clinical work with ready-to-engage clients, and lets admin support you in the coordination of your diary and the administrative aspects of the role.

  • Is dedicated to evidence-based practice, and also a holistic approach to support clients in bouncing back from poor mental health through to supporting them in building their resilience.

  • Wants to work towards developing a niche in a supportive environment with assistance with marketing, and supervision support if desired.

We are offering a flexible private practice contractor roles (availability on Mondays, Thursday afternoons, and Friday mornings).


 

About our clients and referrers

The Skill Collective is a dynamic private practice in Subiaco, WA. We have great relationships with our referral network who are psychologically-minded and take great care in supporting their clients’ mental health and wellbeing. We see adolescents and older adults, and our clients are ready-to-engage individuals looking to build skills to make sustainable changes to their wellbeing, mental health, and performance. In addition to the excellent clinical support provided by our psychologists, clients are also able to access evidence-based resources developed by our team.

We are strongly evidence-based in our approach, and use a range of treatment modalities including CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, Solution-focused therapy, Schema therapy, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing.

Our new location is right near the Subiaco train and bus stations, and walking distance to Coles, Woolworths, and Bunnings. We also have access to a swimming pool and gym facilities.



WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

  • A warm and approachable manner, with the ability to establish good rapport with clients and build a good working relationship with clients.

  • Excellent clinical and counselling skills, anchored in evidence-based treatments (CBT, and experience/interest in additional therapeutic approaches such as schema therapy, ACT, EMDR, mindfulness).

  • Demonstrated ability in assessment, intervention, and treatment, supporting clients to incorporate skills taught in therapy into a more sustainable way of life.

  • The ability to work across a minimum of two sessions, with availability for some after hours sessions.

  • Registration with AHPRA as a psychologist (essential), police clearance (essential) and Working With Children Clearance check (if applicable).

  • A Medicare Provider Number (or meet eligibility for one).

  • Professional indemnity insurance/liability insurance.

  • Australian Business Number (ABN).

We encourage those with demonstrated experience working with any of the following groups/ presentations to apply: Burnout, student issues, trauma and PTSD, performance/work-related issues (e.g. public speaking anxiety, work conflict).

  • Our clients are friendly and motivated to make sustainable changes to enhance their quality of life. We enjoy working collaboratively with clients to embed skills so they are able to self-manage in the longer-term. A particularly rewarding aspect of working with our client base is working with clients who return to to boost their psychological wellbeing following significant life changes.

  • Your clinic days will consist of providing excellent clinical assessment and evidence-based treatment, with a focus on helping clients to embed change in a sustainable manner, and maintaining clinical files and correspondence. Our admin team supports you by coordinating your diary and taking bookings, ensuring a good fit between client and psychologist. We answer client queries, liaise with third parties (GPs, insurers, medicare), and help you stay on track with Medicare compliance, freeing you up to focus on working with clients. We also help you cultivate your niche.

  • We are a supportive team of psychologists, who are excited to learn from each other about their niches. There are opportunities for formal and ad hoc peer support and supervision, and we have a fun team. We are also mindful of sustainable work practices and preventing burnout. Our director is a clinical psychologist and a Board-Approved supervisor and can supervise clinical psychology registrars for their endorsement.

  • Option to facilitate and/or develop workshops externally and internally (we have a group room). We work alongside an Organisational Psychology consultancy and are actively engaged with organisations to help them enhance mental health in the workplace.
